Senior Schools

View the list of schools that our Year 6 have received offers and scholarships from in our offers chart 2020  and the placement table of where they chose to go.

Girls are prepared for a diverse variety of senior schools during their journey at Rowan and there is additional support provided for parents and guardians in making that difficult choice.  Following is an edited list of senior schools that Rowan pupils have chosen to attend:

Claremont Fan Court School   Benenden
Guildford High School   Cheltenham Ladies College
Holy Cross School   Christ Hospital
Ibstock Place   City of London Freemen's
Kingston Grammar School   Gordon's
Lady Eleanor Holles   St Catherine's, Bramley
Manor House   St Teresa's, Effingham
Nonsuch High School   Sherborne
Putney High School   St John's, Leatherhead
Surbiton High School   St Mary's, Ascot
Tiffin Girls' School   The Duke of York's Royal Military School
Tormead   Wycombe Abbey
Wimbledon High School

Each Autumn Term from Year Four upwards, a Senior Schools Information evening is held with a variety of senior school representatives in attendance, following which parents are invited to meet with the Headmistress and agree upon a shortlist of schools.

The start of Year Six is used by the girls for revision and consolidation followed by completing a series of practice papers under exam conditions, role play interview skills and selected Governors asking girls questions on a one to one basis to increase their confidence.

Post Exams

After the majority of school offers have been received in January/February the girls studies focus on broadening their perspectives and bridging the gap between primary and secondary education.  Activities include literature workshops, bikeability, a residential week in France and the end of year drama production.

All girls leave Rowan with the values and skills to achieve in life.
