Year 6 Residential Trip to France
Year 6 Residential Trip to France:
This month, our Year 6 girls embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to Normandy, France, filled with adventure, cultural exploration, and plenty of opportunities to practise their French language skills.
From the moment they arrived, the girls immersed themselves in the local culture. One of the highlights was visiting a traditional French market, where they confidently used their French to buy local produce. Their enthusiasm and growing language skills were truly impressive!
The trip was packed with exciting excursions. The girls explored the historic D-Day landing beaches, gaining a deeper understanding of World War II and the bravery of those who fought there. A particularly moving visit was to the Bayeux British War Cemetery, where the girls paid their respects and reflected on the sacrifices made during the war.
They also visited a snail farm - an experience that was both educational and entertaining, sparking curiosity and a few giggles! Another thrilling day was spent at a theme park, where laughter and excitement filled the air.
The girls also toured the beautiful town of Bayeux, marvelling at its stunning cathedral and the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry, which brought history to life in a vivid and captivating way.
Throughout the trip, the girls demonstrated independence, teamwork, and a genuine interest in French culture. It was a joy to see them grow in confidence and curiosity, making memories that will last a lifetime.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 students for embracing every moment of this enriching experience. Normandy has certainly left a lasting impression!
