Monday morning started marvellously when the Art Department welcomed Rowan parent Mrs Leila Barton who talked to Years 2 – 6 about her vibrant work as a portrait and landscape painter. Mrs Barton talked to the pupils about her career as an artist and how her true passion for art started when she won a competition at school for her bug painting. The girls were also mesmerised by our own Y6 Art Prefect, Nadia, who demonstrated her creative flair and talent in front of the girls through sketching a peony before eloquently talking through her creative process. What a colourful way to start the week!
Mrs Barton is currently Artist of the Week in the Bentall Centre, Kingston.
