The Rowan U10 hockey A team had fantastic success at the 2019 London & Surrey Cup competition, where they achieved silver medal position.
It was a super morning of junior hockey. Sixteen schools competed in the cup this year which were played in two pools. Rowan were runners up in the 1st pool which meant they played the winners of pool 2 in the semi final. It was a nail biting match as the teams were evenly matched however, Rowan rose to the challenge and produced some wonderful hockey to win 2-0. They played a fantastic final against Wimbledon High, the standard of hockey on show was outstanding, in the end Rowan achieved the silver position which is absolutely amazing at such a competitive event, something the girls should feel extremely proud of. Well done girls.
The day rounded off with a medal presentation by the Team GB goalkeeper Amy Tennant which the girls enjoyed.
Thank you to our spectators and to Surrey Hockey for organising the event.
