Reception had a fantastic day full of dinosaur-related activities when The Travelling Natural History museum came to visit.
‘Dinogirl’ taught the girls about different types of dinosaurs and what they ate, learning the difference between carnivores and herbivores and all about their teeth or lack of them! The girls touched real fossils and dinosaur teeth that were 150 million years old. We also used brushes to carefully reveal spectacular fossils in in a sand dig, just like real palaeontologists. We each cast our own special fossil using genuine fossil moulds, so they look very realistic.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was when we found out about the flying reptiles, pterodactyls, and we even practised walking on dinosaur stilts.
We can’t wait to find out more about dinosaurs as we go on more amazing animal adventures this term!
