This week, Year 2 visited Claygate Allotments as part of their ‘Growing and Staying Healthy’ topic. They observed the different vegetables and fruit growing there and discussed which parts of the plant were edible. They were very keen to help Mrs Clark to harvest the crops, particularly the strawberries!
The girls learnt about the different animals that live in the allotments and how they affect the different plants. The girls also learnt many interesting facts about bees and had the opportunity to try delicious Claygate honey. Our thanks go to Mrs Clark and her fellow allotment holders for making this exciting trip possible.
