Service of Dedication: 'Giving thanks and praise for our school'

On Friday morning, the girls and staff enjoyed a beautiful sunny start to the day as they walked over to Holy Trinity Church, Claygate, for their annual service of dedication. We gather together as a community at the start of the academic year, to give thanks for our school and to wish all who work at Rowan success and happiness for the year ahead. We are grateful for our families. and friends in our lives who support and help us when we need them. Our focus for the service was ‘finding the right balance’, and Year 6 read and performed some beautiful and thought provoking poems, allowing moments of reflection. The whole school enjoyed singing ‘Look at the World’ by John Rutter, and the words to our school hymn, ‘We build our school on Thee, O Lord’ seemed particularly relevant to the morning’s prayers. Our challenge for the school year ahead is to live a balanced, fruitful life that comprises health, hard work, rest and play.
