It has been a busy week for the Rowan Prep gym squad and gym development squad with both groups taking part in their first competitions of the year.
The gym squad travelled to Kent College on Saturday 24th for the IAPS National Championships. The girls had been working extremely hard for many weeks on their floor routines and vaults to ensure they were ready for this prestigious competition. The performances from all the girls were outstanding and they should be very proud to have represented Rowan at such a competition.
In the team competition the u9 team came 4th overall, missing out on a bronze medal by 0.1. The u10 team came 5th and the u11 came 3rd, a brilliant achievement. Individually, Amelie came 2nd, Ellie 5th and Lily 6th. Well done girls!!
The gym development squad had a friendly competition against Seaton House on Monday 26th. For many it was their first competition so there was a mixture of nerves and excitement on the journey to the school. However, the girls all performed excellent floor routines and really enjoyed the opportunity to show case their skills and hard work. Well done to Astrid and Amelia for finishing 2nd and Imogen 3rd.
