Brae Sports Day 2018

15 June 2018

Brae Sports Day 2018

The Rowan Brae Sports day finally arrived for all the excited Reception to Year 2 girls on Wednesday.  The weather was again in our favour which always puts a smile on everyone's faces.  The afternoon started with a lively 'Rock and Roll'  led by Miss Sharps.

As it was Miss Sharps' last sports day our theme this year was linked to her love of travelling around the world. Reception performed an in Indian warm-up routine to Jai Ho followed by Year 1 representing Europe with the Spanish Macerena and last but not least Year 2 dancing to Waka Waka, this time for Africa.  All the girls performed their routines brilliantly.

During sports day, the girls showcased a mixture of skills involved with athletics including running , jumping and throwing events along with the more fun events of the obstacle and egg and spoon races.  House relays followed in Year groups finishing with the much anticipated Year 2 300m race.

It was a fabulous afternoon,  well done to all the girls who competed,  the overall winners were Heather House!

A huge thank you to all the parents for their support and for taking part in the egg and spoon races but mostly to the girls for making it such a memorable afternoon.
