A flying start to summer term sport at Rowan

With a busy schedule of summer sport ahead, Rowan hit the ground running with cricket masterclasses for Y3 and Y6 from KGS and St Johns, Surrey tennis for U10 & U11 and combined successes at the Surrey Novice Gym competition and at the inaugural Feltonfleet Athletics competition at ACS Cobham for Y5 & Y6.

Gold for Y5 and 6  Rowan at  Athletics

Rowan had a fantastic afternoon of athletics at the U10 - U13 girls & boys Feltonfleet competition.  As the opening schools athletics competition of the term it was a good warm up for the season ahead.  Despite first event nerves all the girls rose to the challenge running, jumping and throwing superbly achieving a number of gold, silver and bronze positions.  When combined our girls won team gold for highest points for the Y5 girls and Y6 girls competition.

Surrey Novice Gym Competition

Girls from Y4 and 5 development gym squad had the first gym competition of the term at Surrey Novice held at Priorsfield on Wednesday.

The girls have been working hard on improving their execution of skills, which showed in their confident performances on both floor and vault. This was rewarded with plenty of medals being won, a special mention to Emily for winning gold in the advanced floor category and Milla for winning gold on vault.

To round off an amazing week, news just in, the  Rowan U10 Medley relay team have qualified for the IAPS National Swimming finals at the London Aquatic Centre on the 8th of June.
