Brae Sports Day

Sports day finally arrived for all the excited Reception to Year 2 girls on Friday 14 June.  The weather, after a wet morning, was again in our favour, which always puts a smile on everyone's faces.

Our theme this year was linked to Outer Space, linking up with their activity week and the much anticipated ARISS contact. The afternoon started with a parade of astronauts, wearing masks, ready to fly off into space, followed by the warm up to the ‘The Astronaut Song’. All the girls performed their routine brilliantly.

During sports day, the girls showcased a mixture of skills involved in athletics, performing running, jumping and throwing events along with the more fun events of the obstacle and egg and spoon races. House relays followed in Year groups with the Year 2’s also involved in a 300m race.

Well done Rowan House who were the overall winners with most points for the afternoon.

Rowan House won the Reception and Year 1 relays and Heather House won the Year 2 relay.

A huge thank you to all the parents for the wonderful support and taking part in the egg and spoon races with such spirit, but mostly to the girls for making it such a memorable afternoon.

Thank you

Mrs Blackmore
