On Wednesday Year 2 went to London, to visit St Paul’s Cathedral. They were introduced to ‘The Fire of London’ through role play and looking around the Cathedral. Having walked through the golden gates, the girls were allowed to enter the Quire. They laid down on the Cathedral floor and gazed in awe at the famous mosaics on the ceiling. The girls also discussed the importance of Sir Christopher Wren and saw his tomb in the crypt. Afterwards Year 2 climbed 257 steps to sit around the Whispering Gallery looking up at the Dome ceiling and down to the Cathedral floor below. An amazing visit and the girls behaved impeccably.
