Football at Rowan Prep

Girls from Rowan Prep U7’s, U9’s and U11’s football teams played in their first football matches of the season in three separate fixtures against Milbourne Lodge this week.

The U7 girls arrived at Milbourne full of excitement for their first ever fixture. Despite first match nerves all the girls played fantastically and with huge energy throughout the match. On this occasion Rowan were the victors but all girls played with great spirit  Special mentions to Amelia, for leading the team, to Holly and Jemima with their shared performances as Goalkeeper and to Olivia and Emily who worked hard throughout the match running from end to end!

The U9’s had two very close matches with end to end football played by both teams.  Both matches were exciting and played with a lot of energy.  In the end the matches ended with draw and a win for Milbourne.  Well done to Tilly and to Amy for their supporting roles as captain and to Mia for great attacking.

In a very evenly matched game the U11’s put on a fantastic team performance with fast well organised play and strong defending. Our posts were rattled a few times but the last gasp of the match Rowan scored to win 2-1 Special mentions to Caitlin for impressive attacking skills and to Hannah for outstanding defending.

A huge thank you to Milbourne Lodge for hosting the football and to the parents for all their fantastic support.
